About Natural Helpers
- Natural Helpers
- Natural Helpers are Marshwood students who have been identified by their peers as good listeners. Their role in the school is to be just that- good listeners. We know that our school has it's own natural network of teens helping teens, and Natural Helpers is just a way of "packaging" that network for all students to access. Natural Helpers are NOT counselors or social workers just students who are will to listen and support you through the ups and downs of life. All communication with Natural Helpers is confidential between yourself and the Natural Helper. There are limits to that confidentiality- If you talk about a "red flag" issue such as suicide, physical or sexual abuse, neglect, eating disorders, risk of harm to self or others or substance abuse, Natural Helpers will help you seek out an adult that can help with these issues or refer you to the Adult Facilitators-Mrs. Brown and Officer Upton.
